Jesus it was a costume...he probably has fond memories of listening to MJ's music growing up...I don't even think it was tasteless...

Anyone calling Bozak a racist for this clearly doesn't know what racism is.

WOW...it was a costume of one of the most recognized performers in the history of music. We are falling apart as a society when this is news! I guess the loudest voice gets heard, even though they are few.

I went as a rastafarian last year. And i got savage props. If a black guy painted himself white people would be laughing all the way to the bank. A costume is a costume. If you want to make it as authentic and realistic as possible you paint your skin.

This whole subject is dumb.

I will say one thing tho. If you choose to paint yourself. Dont sit on your buddies expensive couch. That shyt rubs off easy!

I dont think it's racist, but it can be considered racially insensitive given the history behind "blackface". If done within a group of people who more or less know you, it's not that bad, but if you're a public figure I think you need to be a little smarter and be aware that people can be offended by it. If you dont care about that, then fine, but at least be prepared for it.

Hell the wayans who are black (if anyone doesnt know) made a whole movie about being dumb white girls and dressed as white people clearly making fun of white "valley" girls. I don't remember anyone saying anything about them being racist. Apparently honoring a black person with a costume is racist making fun of white women for an entire movie is acceptable, got it

I dressed up as DuffMan a few years back...but not cause the costume was awesome and I watched the show religiously while growing up...its cause I hate alcoholics/yellow people/beer/super heros/muscle men.

MJ wasn't even black, no one knows what he was, so how could that be racist?

So it is OK for a black man to make himself white - but it is not OK for a white man to make himself black. Now that is Racist!

What Tyler Bozak did was play dress up for Halloween, that is all folks. Move on!

The connection between Bozak dressing like MJ and "blackface" is as strong as the connection between a kid putting a bed sheet over his head for a ghost costume and the KKK.

There was no malicious intent. In fact, it was the opposite - recognition, acknowledgement and perhaps even a Halloween tribute to a legendary artist.

If Bozak hadn't worn make-up he probably would have been called insensitive for dramatizing Jackson's actual skin colour.

So if Bozak dressed up as the most recent memory of MJ when MJ was white, is that still racist? How in the hell dressing up like someone regardless of skin color is racist. Doesn't usually mean when you dress up like someone, you like that person or want to be him/her? I am sure Bozak loved MJ and liked his music and wanted to be him for a day. But in this day and age, it sickens me when media would put a spin on anything just to franking sell a story. Media should be ashamed of themselves. They are racist!!!
